JESSE LEROY SMITH

My recent projects such as ‘Inhabitants’, ‘Assembly’, ‘Idolised’ and ‘Force Majeure’ all gather together diverse stories, peoples and influences into arcades or friezes of images.

Each image seeks to assert its own character and circumstance but also manifests a network of relationships, shaped by its neighbour or by far flung kindred entities.

In their making artworks evolve and transfigure and defy their initial format. ‘Pantheist’ made in collaboration with Roger Thorp personified how we are all shaped by relentless cultural and belief values.

I hope my images suggest that we can maintain our individuality by embracing perpetual change.

ON reflects a sea change in how we perceive global interconnection and provides the ideal platform to share initiatives happening globally that will inspire investment in our environments.
